제목 [UNFCCC] Join Live Q&A to Prepare for Biennial Transparency Report Training

UN Climate Change News, 11 April 2023 - The UN Climate Change secretariat will hold on May 3rd 2023 a  Live Q&A Session for training course A prepared for the training programme for Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) technical expert review under the Paris Agreement.

In preparation for the 1st examination period, the live Q&A session will focus primarily on substantive and technical matters regarding the contents of the training course A that participants who wish to become eligible technical expert reviewers (TER) of BTR may have. Interested participants can register for the Q&A session here.

These trainings are important measures to enhance transparency via Biennial Transparency Reports in support of the key goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. The key goals of the Agreement include limiting the global average temperature rise to as close as possible to 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels, and building resilience to the inevitable impacts of climate change, such as ever more frequent and severe droughts, storms and floods.

All experts participating in the technical expert review under the enhanced transparency framework of the Paris Agreement are required to study “Course A: General and cross-cutting aspects for the technical expert review." The 1st exam for Course A is scheduled to take place from May 8th to 10th, and registration for the 1st round of exams will be open from April 11th to 23rd here.

In 2023, the secretariat will offer two additional examination periods: June 10th and September 11th to 13th. Registration for each exam will open between three to four weeks before the exam period, and interested participants can register via a link that will become available on the Course A website.

For any further inquiries regarding the Training programme for BTR technical expert review under the Paris Agreement, experts should leave their questions in the Q&A box.
