[SEI] Invited perspectives: Fostering interoperability of data, models, communication, and governance for disaster resilience through transdisciplinary knowledge co-production

분류 SEI
Category

In this perspective, the authors take a detailed look at the challenges facing systems and organizations seeking to address the growing impacts of extreme weather events and climate change. The situation underlines the importance of aligning disaster risk management needs with adaptation measures.

To address these challenges requires collaboration across fields of expertise, the authors argue. To this end, they set out a transdisciplinary knowledge co-production approach to promote interoperability between these two components: disaster risk management and climate change adaptation. The authors outline a framework for enabling knowledge co-production to enhance risk governance. They also put forward a novel, open-source, federated data infrastructure that allows stakeholders to consolidate and connect relevant data sources, models and information products.
