Context
Kurunegala City is an intensively developing capital, located in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka. Like other world cities, the city of Kurunegala is facing socio-spatial climate vulnerabilities, including increasing extreme heat conditions, periods of flooding, air pollution, a decreasing drinking water supply, groundwater pollution, waste management issues, lack of sewage treatment and disposal facilities, and gradually diminishing urban biodiversity and recreation. Therefore, most urban systems in the city of Kurunegala are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and most crucial to adaptation challenges which have affected in the past/can affect in the future. 배경
쿠루네갈라 시티는 집약적 개발 수도이며, 스리랑카의 북서부 지방에 위치해 있다. 세계의 다른 도시들과 같이 쿠루네갈라 시는 혹서 증가, 홍수 시기, 대기오염, 식수 공급 감소, 지하수 오염, 폐기물 처리 문제, 하수 처리 및 처리 시설 부족, 점진적으로 감소하는 도시 생물 다양성 및 휴양 등의 사회공간적 기후 취약성에 노출되어 있다. 그래서, 쿠루네갈라 시 대부분의 도시 시스템은 기후 변화의 영향에 취약하며, 과거에 영향을 미쳤고, 미래에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 적응 문제들에 대해 가장 중요한 부분이다.
