미얀마의 기후 변화, 가뭄, 홍수 관리 데이터 활성화
This Technology Transfer Advances Myanmar's Nationally Determined Contribution to reduce climate change vulnerability and reduce poverty in rural areas and for subsistence farmers as a priority, and to continue the work of developing flood and drought early warning systems for reducing the vulnerability of local communities to extreme weather events.
본 기술 이전은 소작농을 우선으로 농촌 지역의 기후 변화 취약성과 빈곤을 줄이고, 지역 공동체의 이상 기후 현상에 대한 취약성을 낮추기 위한 홍수 및 가뭄 조기 경보 시스템 개발을 지속하고자 하는 미얀마의 국가자발적기여(Nationally Determined Contribution; NDC)에 영향을 줄 것이다.
Context
Myanmar’s National Adaptation Program of Action (NAPA) states there is an urgent need for Myanmar’s communities and economic sectors to adapt to climate change and variability (UNEP, 2012). The agricultural and water sectors are some of the main areas in need of adaptation technology and approaches to deal with the impacts of climate change. The CTCN assistance is requested for improved information in relation to the development of climate resilient solutions for the key sectors in Myanmar: improved and additional data and information, and how it can be applied in relation to climate change, drought and flood assessments in Myanmar.
배경
미얀마의 국가행동적응프로그램(National Adaptation Program of Action; NAPA)에는 기후변화와 취약성에 적응하기 위한 미얀마 공동체와 국가 부문의 노력이 시급하다는 것이 명시되어 있다(유엔환경계획; United Nations Environment Programme; UNEP. 2012). 농업 및 물 부문은 기후 변화의 영향을 다루기 위한 적응 기술과 접근법이 필요한 주요 부문에 속한다. 미얀마의 주요 부문에 대한 기후 회복력을 갖춘 해결책을 개발하고 관련 정보를 개선하기 위해서는 기후기술센터 및 네트워크(Climate Technology Center & Network; CTCN)의 도움이 필요하다. 여기서 말하는 해결책은 향상된 추가 데이터 및 정보와, 이를 미얀마의 기후 변화, 가뭄, 홍수에 대한 판단과 연관 지어 어떻게 적용할 수 있을 것인가에 대한 것이다.
