2024 Webinar Series:

The CGE, at its 11th meeting held on 5-7 February 2024, agreed to organize its regional webinars as part of its work plan for 2024, with an aim to serve as preparatory sessions for the CGE’s regional hands-on training workshops to be conducted on “Preparation of the Biennial Transparency Reports”.

At this outset, the regional webinars will be organized focusing on introducing the technical background information, including the enhanced transparency framework (ETF), the modalities, procedures, and guidelines (MPGs), and other related areas.

In that context, the webinars will be organized with a view to enhancing Parties’ understanding of the reporting requirements under the ETF and the components of BTRs. The specific objectives of the workshops are to:

  • Provide an overview of the ETF and its MPGs to prepare the BTRs, including flexibility provisions;
  • Introduce the objectives and programme of the regional workshops;
  • Discuss the expectations to the participants, including the data and information to be compiled in advance to the workshops, with an aim to enhance the learning experience in the subsequent regional workshops; and
  • Solicit feedback and participant’s expectations to the regional workshops and the CGE.

As a result, the participants will be better prepared to contribute to discussions and navigate the BTR compilation process with greater confidence and clarity, during the hands-on training workshops.
