Global Energy Interconnectivity and Transition for the SDGsAn official UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) Side Event, Co-hosted by GEIDCO, SDSN, UNECE, ESCAP, ESCWA, OLADE Accelerating the global energy transition and promoting clean, low-carbon electricity development are critical measures in urgently addressing climate change. The top priority is to hasten the worldwide adoption of clean energy and to advance the green, low-carbon development of the electricity sector. This side event aims to summarize the substantial progress and practical cases of the global energy transition. Exchanging experiences from around the world has never been more important. Expected outcomes from this event are multifaceted: to further encourage innovative electric power development, to enhance the efficiency of energy transitions in different countries, to advance the development of clean electricity, to eliminate energy poverty, to contribute to the urgent efforts needed for climate change mitigation, and to offer effective solutions and pathways for achieving the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
